Fills the local music niche

by Jake D.

Martin Music is small. Its inventory is thin and has no high-end items. That said, its employees are largely knowledgeable and they fill a niche in the community. It's a place a kid can get his first guitar, a novice can pick up an instrument, or someone with a bit more expertise can buy a pack of strings or some guitar picks.

Great for beginners and 5th grade band students

by Matt R.

I remember coming here when I was 8 years old with my father and buying a flute so I could take private flute lessons. An eight year old boy taking flute lessons might seem a little, uhh... weird, but whatever. I was inspired by my grammy. =)

Well, my flute playing aspirations didn't last long and I moved onto other instruments. Now, 12 years later, I finally returned to this business that I had fond memories of as a child. It wasn't quite as 'magical' as I had remembered, but it's still nice nevertheless. They seem to focus primarily on beginner instruments. It's definitely worth patroning (sic).
